chronicle

The Milwaukee area was originally the land of Menomini, Fox, Maqten, Sok, Potavatomi, Ozebekian, and Ho-chunk (Vionbago). French missionary and businessmen the first to go there in the late 17th century and again in the 18th century. By 1785, Alexis Lambois established a business post by Alexis Lafrico from the Michigan area; So it's the first inhabitant of European origins. The word "milwaukeen" came from milioke, which means "bliss well/well-land", Potavatomi language minweking, or Ojibwe, "instead of combining in [water]". The preliminers called the Milwaukee river and the land around it with different names: Malleorqui, Milwaki, say-a-waukee, milwark and Milwaki. For many years, the printed records show the name as "Milwauki (Milwaukie). that says a story about Milwaukee's name,
[O]during the thirties of the century [1800s] a newspaper calmly changed the name to Milwaukee, and Milwaukee has until this day.
The spelling of Milwaukie was made in Milwaukie, Auregon, who was put in Wisconsin on, on the basis of the present alarm city in 1847.
it was the first time in the milwaukee that Mr. Alexis Lafrie's a French Canadian named London in 1785; He was a commercial post. Therefore, Soloman Juno was not the first person to come out of the region in 1818. However, Juno founded a city which was named Junozside, or Junotown, who attracted more residents. Byron Kilborne was the equivalent of Juno in the west of the Milwaukee River. the equivalent was Juno. In competition with juno, he founded Kilborntown in the west of the Milwaukee River and ensure that the road leading to the river did not join the east. Because of this, a large number of bridges facing an angle were still in Milwaukee. Also, Kilbourne distribution of a map just in the region where those had been shown on Killborntown Zail, in showing that zinotown doesn't exist or that the area on the east of the river is undesirable and thereby undesirable. The third main builder was George H. Walker. He called on the south of the Milwaukee river, next to the Junagown, to the land where he made a log house in 1834. the region grew up and went into the walker point.
By the decade 1840s, the three cities had developed considerably with their rivalries. There had been some serious battles between these cities, mainly in the midst of Junountown and Kilborntown, which became the capital-bridge war of 1845. After the bridge war, it was decided that best action would be to officially unify cities. So, on the 31st January, 1846, they both organized the milwaukea town and elected Solomon Juno as Mayor of the Milwaukee.
German Immigration
* A significant number of German immigrants increased the city's population during the decade 1840s; and they continued to during the next decade. Milwaukee is being called Doychess Athen (German Athens) and in the twentieth century more German-speaking and German newspapers than English-speaking and English-language newspapers were here.[Please Add Quotation] German legacy and influence in the Milwaukee area is comprehensive.According to the 2010, [update], the Greater milord's phone book has more than 40 pages of schmidts or smoods, than the Smith's pages.
During the middle and last period of the 19th century, the Visknuckins and the Milwaukee area became the final destination for German immigrants who flew out as a result of the revolution of 1848 from different German states and Austria. In Wisconsin they got the cheap land and freedom that they were looking for. More than a million people left Germany during the next ten years, and settled in the United States. Some of them were intellectual leaders of revolt but most of them were German who had lost faith in their Government's capacity to solve economic problems. Others abandoned because they were in Germany under continuous political turbulence. A rich Government owner of the government wrote in Wisconsin: "I would rather prefer civilized, cultured, Germany if it's in a pre-arranged stage, but, given the future of events and religion and politics, I would like to America." Here I can be more peace and without trouble.[Please add a quote) a journalist remarked in Houston post that "It's the Millwaukee, Louis St. Cincinnati, and it's losing his sari's foreign assets.""
Polish Immigrant
Though the German presence in the Milwaukee was strong after the civil war, the other groups made a ready route to this city. Among them was the most prominent Polish immigrants. Poland had some reason to leave their homes, mainly by poverty and Germany's political oppression (many immigration came from the German part of Poland). Because the low-income entry level in Milwaukee was in a great way to Polish immigrants, the region became the biggest in Polish settlements in United States of America.
For many residents, Milwaukee's South side is a synonymous with the Polish Society here. The tuberance of this group had produced a high profile for decades, and it did not happen for the decade of 1950s and the decade of 1950s that the families started spreading to South suburbs.
Until 1850, in the Milwaukee County, the premier poles in polity and American census indicates that his businesses were of a variety of: Kirana, loharsh, laborer, scarce workers, kuppies, sai, jam builder, joota bacharas, gadibaan, laborers and peasant. in the milwaukee three separate Polish communities flourished, most of which live in the south of Greenfield Avenue. The Polish Population of Milwaukee County went up from 30,000 to 100,000 in 1890 to 1915. Polarians have historically a robust national cultural and social identity which had been created through the Catholic Church. The Milwaukee South side is rich in the tombs of these immigrants and one of them continues to be an important center of the community.

Socialism
In the first half of the 20th century, Milwaukee was a bastion of a socialist movement in America. Milwaukee elected three Mayors of the Socialist Party during this period: Emil) Ciddell (1910-1912, Daniel Hon (1916-1940) and Frank Zadler (1948-1960). It is the biggest city in the country. Often referred to as "sewer socialists", the Milwaukee socialists are now known for their practical approach to the government and labor.
Historical neighborhood

In 1892, Whitefish Bay, South Milwaukee and Vouatosa were included. Then came the Coodlahi (1895), the North Milwaukee (1897) and the East milwaukee which was later known as Shorwood in 1900. In the first half of the 20th century, the West Alice (1902) and the West Milwaukee (1906) was included, which completed the first generation of suburbs.

With a bargaining victory, the milwaukee became one of the 15 largest cities in the country and its population reached 8,5000 during the mid-1960s. With the end of the 1960s, the milwaukee population continued to rise in unlike many cities around "Raut belt". Milwaukee was saved from White Fleet while every other big city felt this meant a decrease in population.
In recent years, the city has pursued an effort to improve its own economy, neighborhood and image and the neighborhood where its neighborhood has gone virulent about its neighborhood, such as a hystoric acid, liver village, east-side and more recently called vakers point and Bay and new occupations were attracted at the center of the city. The city has continued to process a revival through various projects.
Milwaukee's rich European history is clear today. In a broad sense, its efforts to conserve history, the latter was declared to be one of "a dozen particular places" by the National Trust for Historic Protection in 2006.
