Shirley Van (Shirleys Mae Volm), a renowned dancer and leader of Shirley Van's Dance Studio and The Dance Company in Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on October 23, 2026. Known legally as Shirley Mae Volom, she had a profound impact on the lives of numerous people throughout the Green Bay community. She taught young women and men how to dance and instilled a set of skills that could be used in all aspects of their lives. Shirley was a graduate of St. Norbert College and a choreographer for St. norbert College productions and co-founder of the People's Ballet Company in 1974. She also co-founded the GreenBay Chapter of Adventures In Movement, a program aimed at teaching dance to handicapped children in schools. A service will begin at 6:30pm on October 28,26.
