Bruce Springsteen gives Brewers manager a ‘Glory Days’ moment before World Series
The Boss reached out two days before Milwaukee's World Series Game 1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Bruce Springsteen, a legendary New Jersey icon known for his high school baseball memories, surprised Brewers manager Pat Murphy with a FaceTime call before the team's Game 1 win over the Tampa Bays Rays. Murphy is a huge Springsteen fan and gave a shout-out to his 2020 song, "Last Man Standing," after the Brewers won their first pennant since 1982. Springsteen was watching on TV and asked his assistant to help locate Murphy. The manager heard from Springsteen around 8 a.m. Wednesday. The last time the Brewers played in the World Series was in 1982, when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals.
