Milwaukee tools are great, but these 5 just aren't worth the extra cost
The red tax is real. Milwaukee makes excellent tools across its M12 and M18 lineup, but there are also some that are overpriced or underpowered. The company's M18 FUEL 5-inch Orbital Palm Sander is particularly criticized for being unbalanced, vibration, and overall poor design. The M18-powered compact heat gun is also criticized for its heavy battery pack and being underpowered, draining battery packs too fast. The Milwaukee M12 laser temperature gun and infrared thermometer are both considered excellent tools. However, the M18 laser thermometer costs over $200 to tell temperatures on a jobsite, while a trusted name like Klein Tools can buy the same tool for $64 or a similar tool at Harbor Freight for $23. The REDSTICK Magnetic Box Level for $65 is also less expensive.
