The Bad Piggy Plans Brick-and-Mortar Restaurant
Food truck to open permanent location in Tippecanoe neighborhood. The Bad Piggy food truck is set to open at 4068 S. Howell Ave., the former site of Campbell's Irish Pub. The brick-and-mortar is expected to offer a menu similar to the mobile operation, featuring dishes such as mofongo, Puerto Rican rice and roasted pork. Co-owner Roberto Silva Lopez has been in the food business for nearly five years and began cooking when he moved to Wisconsin in 2009. He plans to continue sharing his culture with a larger audience. The building was previously planned for El Paraíso Restaurant Bar, but its license application was denied due to neighborhood objections.
