First Lady Jill Biden will visit with local seniors in Green Bay on Thursday afternoon as part of an outreach effort in battleground states for her husband’s reelection campaign.
The visit is part of the launch of “Seniors for Biden-Harris,” an initiative by the Biden campaign to contrast President Joe Biden’s agenda against that of Republican former President Donald Trump.
In addition to the Badger state, the first lady will visit Minnesota, California, Nevada and Arizona this week.
“In 2020, seniors played a key role in electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — and this November will be no different,” the Biden campaign said in its announcement. “Not only do seniors vote at higher levels than any other group, but there are over 10 million senior voters in battleground states.”
Jill Biden visited Green Bay in February to promote the Biden Administration’s education policies. Her visit Thursday comes a little more than a week after Donald Trump Jr. attended a rally for a Green Bay-area congressional candidate who has been endorsed by his father.
Trump and Biden both made stops in Wisconsin last month. Trump attended a rally in Waukesha, while Biden helped announce a more than $3 billion development by Microsoft in Mount Pleasant.
