GREEN BAY Wis. WFRV – More than 100 cars have reportedly been stolen in Green Bay this year.

“There’s been 120 auto thefts stolen year to date as of June 4th it’s important that the community knows that because that’s a lot of person’s hours in investigating those thefts all these thefts are preventable,” Explained commander Kevin Warych.

Anti-theft software is available for Kia and Hyundai drivers, the software has prevented multiple cars from being stolen.

“It helps so they can’t actually turn the key when they go to steal the vehicle and then we put a sticker on the back showing that it has been taken care of so people can easily see that it’s not going to be easily stolen,” stated Jessica Vandevoort Ford Service Advisor.

Drivers are asked to contact their dealership for more information about anti-theft software.

The Green Bay Police Department posted on its Facebook page thanking local dealerships for partnering with the department for the clinic.
