A Jefferson County judge sentenced Jeffrey Redecker to 25 years in prison Monday for a crash that killed Watertown father of three Cole Strohbusch last year. Jeffrey Redecker has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a hit-and-run that killed Watertown father of three Cole Strohbusch in 2025. The crash occurred on Dec. 21, 2025, when Strohbuch was hit by a pickup truck and the driver left the scene. Redeck, who pleaded guilty in August 2026, failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary breath test result of 0.121. Assistant District Attorney Monica Hall argued that Redeker should have known better than to drive after drinking and that a potential alcohol-related blackout did not excuse his decision to drive or stop. Redercker was sentenced to 35 years for homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, including 20 years in jail and 15 years of extended supervision.
