Brewers World Series inspires stunning Jackson Chourio chalk portrait in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - - Milwaukee Brewers fans have another creative way to celebrate the team's World Series run, but this one may disappear with the Katie Bogan, a Milwaukee-area resident, has created a 10-by-10-foot chalk portrait of Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio. The temporary artwork was commissioned by Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 and will remain on display during the team's World Series run as weather conditions permit. Bogan is an environmental chemist and has been participating in chalk art festivals since childhood, but her passion for realistic portraits began in 2018 after moving to the city and discovering a love for baseball. She uses a grid to map out her portraits, starting with drawing the eyes, gradually building the nose, lips, and rest of the face. Bgan's technique is so convincing that passersby recognized ChouriO before she had even finished his face.
