Ahead of the World Series, the Brewers manager got to meet ‘The Boss’
Springsteen got wind of Murphy's love of his music and gave the Milwaukee manager a call on Wednesday that Murphy will never forget. Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy was about to manage his first World Series game when he received a call from Bruce Springsteen, a Hall of Fame rocker. The call came after Murphy expressed his love for Springsteen during a press conference during the National League Championship Series where he mentioned his admiration for him and suggested a chance to meet one-on-one with him. Springsteen responded with a FaceTime call from Freehold, N.J. Murphy, who was not a music fan, said Springsteen began the conversation by saying: "I heard we have some connection. I asked him about his friendship with him and he said 'Yes, it is true' Murphy also has a Springsteen-inspired tattoo on his left arm.
