Kewaskum police won't renew Flock Safety contract after license plate camera is stolen, amid public pushback
Kewaskum police won't renew their Flock Safety contract after a license plate camera was stolen and public pushback mounted across the county. Kewaskum police will not renew their contract with Flock Safety after an AI license plate-reading camera was stolen earlier in the year. This decision was made after public pushback in Germantown, Slinger and Hartford. The department's police chief, Tom Bishop, said that since there has been so much public push back, his team opted not to replace the stolen camera or renew their contracts with Floc. Donald Williams, who owns a business nearby in Kewaskom, expressed concern over the potential invasion of privacy and expressed a desire for more transparency from the police. Bishop suggested that he may revisit the technology in the future.
